BEFORE TREATMENT
XERF is safe for all skin types because the RF energy is specifically attracted to water in the tissues (not melanin). Therefore, it is important to hydrate, drinking water, as much as possible in the days prior to treatment. Good hydration improves the quality of the treatment, which translates to better results.
DURING TREATMENT
Unlike many aesthetic treatments, numbing is NOT required for a XERF treatment. The handpiece is applied to the skin in a repetitive fashion over a specific area. There are no needles or any other mechanism to disrupt the skin surface. The Spider Tip design delivers uniform RF energy and real time temperature monitoring to ensure safe and effective treatments. The addition of cooling makes the treatment very comfortable. A warm feeling of the skin is normal during treatments and subsides very quickly afterwards.
POST TREATMENT
Right after treatment and for several days, it is common for the skin to already feel tighter and firmer. Initially, the RF energy causes contraction of collagen giving up to approximately 20% visible results, IMMEDIATELY. There is no healing, recovery, or downtime necessary following a XERF treatment. We recommend continuing a robust medical grade skin care routine, including hydration, beginning right away. Over the following weeks and months, your body will continue to make new collagen and elastin. The production, thickening, strengthening and shortening of collagen and elastin enhances your skin appearance further over time.
